About Department

The Department is one of those in few departments which were established soon after the inception of the Chaitanya Science & Arts College, Pamgarh in 2002. Over the period, the department has been nurtured under the able guidance of the eminent and educationalist/chemists. Late Dr. S.k. Vajapai then principal and eminent chemist extended his expertise in the modernization of infrastructure of the department. The present faculty members are actively engaged besides their teaching Programme in pursuing other scientific activities in frontier area of chemistry. To keep a pace with the advancement in frontier areas of chemistry our faculty members have been visiting laboratories and industries of renowned chemists of country and states. In addition, the department has been successful in establishing chemistry instrumentation, equipped with a number of modern, sophisticated instruments. This has brought the department to a level where we can venture to pursue skills in frontier areas of chemistry.

Infrastructure

The department has well-ventilated classrooms and most of them are equipped with multimedia projectors. The department also has tutorial rooms, seminar hall and virtual classrooms. The department has well-equipped laboratories and each lab is equipped with the modern and latest equipment to provide good hands on experience to students in all areas of their curriculum and to facilitate research activities.

Career Scopes

A chemistry graduate can go for becoming pharmacologist, toxicologist, forensic scientist, chemistry teacher, geochemist among others. Chemistry plays an important and useful role towards the development and growth of number of industries. This includes industries like glass, cement, paper, textile, leather, dye etc. There is a huge application of chemistry in industries like paints, pigments, petroleum, sugar, plastics, and pharmaceuticals.
